The multi-grain tempeh is amazing. I don't want to try another tempeh. I am not normally a fan of tofu but when I make their tofu, I crave it the next day. It's worth making it to their warehouse during their odd hours.

Thank you for your fresh and delicious tofu and tempeh! I buy your products direct from the factory, but your Tuesday employee is unfriendly and condescending toward me. I almost stopped going because I assumed he worked both days. For example, I usually ask if there are any soon-to-be-expiring packages of tofu that would otherwise be thrown away; sometimes there aren't any available for customers and that's completely fine. I've asked the Tuesday employee about expiring tofu only twice. The first time, he indicated that he didn't know what I was talking about, but his manager kindly offered me an expiring package of tempeh upon hearing our exchange. The second time, he refused to even ask or check, citing that it's just not something he personally does. I don't feel entitled to your expiring tofu nor am I abusing your hospitality, as I visit your factory only twice a month and purchase at least one product each visit. I just assumed it doesn't hurt to ask! I've worked in high-paced customer service positions so I know interfacing with customers is demanding work (it's why I always leave a tip, regardless of the quality of service), but his behavior doesn't seem to be a product of that. All I can say for certain is that I feel very unwelcome after interacting with him, and that's not something I want to associate with Surata. I'm just going to avoid the factory on Tuesdays, and I advise others to do the same. To end on a positive note, I found that a different employee works there on Thursdays, who seems very sweet and helpful. She always brightens my day!

Excellent local organic Eugene soyfood, both tempeh and tofu! Window out front of the factory sells "leftovers" Tuesday and Thursday. Products are found in Kiva, Sundance, 6th Bruns Market, etc. (See website for locations) FOR ME IT IS VEGAN HEAVEN, there I typed it. You can eat Surata products raw, or season them however you like! Oh my curd, do you know the whey?

The best tofu, the best tempeh I've ever had, sold at remainder prices on Tuesdays and Thursdays... Oh dear lord, I never knew it could be like this... So good I'm writing about it on Christmas.

I love Surata tempeh. I'm so happy it's made right here in Eugene. I also love that you can go to Surata on Tuesdays and Thursdays and buy gigantic sheets of frozen tempeh for $8.50. This is literally one of the best deals in town. Just break off what you need and you've got your vegetarian protein - crumble-able, sliceable, grillable, marinated yum. They also sell smaller packages of tempeh and tofu. They don't always have all the flavors and their hours for these "dock sales" are limited, but who cares? You're getting an incredible product, super cheap.
